Privacy Policy

Bodybeat is an iPhone app that shows your Fitbit data from Google Health as daily scores. This policy explains what the app reads, what stays on your phone, what goes to our server, and how to delete it.
What Bodybeat reads
With your permission, Bodybeat reads from the Google Health API, read-only. You choose the groups on the permissions screen:
- Health metrics: heart rate, heart rate variability, resting heart rate, breathing rate and blood oxygen.
- Activity and fitness: steps, calories, workouts and cardio fitness (VO₂ max).
- Sleep: sleep sessions and stages.
- Profile: your age, used for body age.
Bodybeat never writes to Google Health and never reads your messages, contacts or location from Google.
What stays on your iPhone
- The data read from Google Health and the scores worked out from it.
- Runs you record, including the GPS route and heart rate from a Bluetooth sensor.
- Photos you pick when you share a run. They're used only to make the picture and aren't uploaded.
- Your settings, your Home layout, and the name Apple shares when you use Sign in with Apple.
- Morning and weekly notifications, which are made on the phone.
What goes to our server, and only when you choose
- AI Coach (off until you turn it on): a daily summary of the last 30 days goes to our server and is sent to Anthropic's Claude to write Coach's replies. The summary has recovery, strain, sleep score and duration, HRV, resting heart rate, breathing rate, blood oxygen, steps, calories, VO₂ max, body age and your workouts. Your Coach chat is saved on our server so it's there next time. Raw heart rate and run routes are never sent.
- Community (only if you join): the name and country you pick, and your daily recovery, sleep, strain and steps, which the server turns into 7-day averages for the leaderboards. You can leave at any time, and your scores are removed right away.
- Account: to keep the above together, the server stores an account identifier. That's your Sign in with Apple identifier, your Google account identifier, or a random ID for this device. Bodybeat doesn't ask Apple for your email address.
Who processes it
- Google provides your Fitbit data through the Google Health API.
- Cloudflare runs our server and database.
- Anthropic generates AI Coach replies from your question and the summary above, only while AI Coach is on.
- Apple provides Sign in with Apple and TestFlight, including any crash reports or feedback you choose to send.
We don't sell your data, don't use it for advertising, and don't include any third-party analytics or tracking.
Google API Services
Bodybeat's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data from Google is used only to show you your scores and, if you turn it on, to answer your questions in AI Coach.
Deleting your data
In the app, go to More › Sign out. This removes Bodybeat's access to Google Health and deletes your data from the phone and from our server, including Coach chats and Community scores. You can also remove Bodybeat's access at any time from your Google account settings or from Settings › Apple Account › Sign in with Apple on your iPhone.
Children
Bodybeat isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and say what changed in the app's release notes.
